Hi my name is Mohit panchal, the creator of Bookgains and I brought some interesting stuff for you and its an insightful as well…
I recently finished reading Start with why and there’s a bunch of things you will find yourself highlighting, it teaches you the very basic of a business, that is “Why you do what you do”, I recommend everyone to watch his popular TED Talk he is a magical speaker. While reading the book I got to know that Why people are always ready to buy any new product from apple but they will not do the same for Dell, because we know why apple exists and why they are doing what they are doing but we do not know why Dell exists.
Apple’s “WHY” went something like this :
Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo. We believe in thinking differently"
We are more eager to buy apple products after reading this, and When “I phone” popped out in the market in 2007, people stood in lines for hours to buy the I phone. Have you ever seen such a loyal fanbase of any other company.
Well lets read some quotes that I liked in this book.
Leading, however, means that others willingly follow you - not because they have to, but because they want to
Authenticity can not be achieved without having a clarity of WHY.
Lets stop quotes for a while and look at this picture of “ The golden circle” which author explains in the book. He dedicated a chapter in the book to talk about this.
Great leaders and organizations inspires their employees and customers to act by establishing a strong “WHY” a cause, a belief of why they do what they do
What authenticity means is that your golden circle is in balance. It means that everything you say and everything you do you actually believe
Those with an ability to never lose sight of WHY, no matter how little or how much they achieve, can inspire us.
The ability oto put a WHY into words provides the emotional context for decisions.
Its the discipline to never veer from your cause, to hold yourself accountable to HOW you do things; that’s the hardest part.
If companies don’t know why their customers are their customers, odds are they don’t know why their employees are employees.
